There should be no reward when fund loses money

RE “PENSION board to give big bonuses: Rewards provided despite fund losses” (Metro, Aug. 10): This election year we are faced with decisions weighing business against government, small vs. big government, rich vs. poor, and so on.

I thank the Globe for helping me through the maze of facts, half truths, and outright lies spread by both parties and liberals and conservatives alike.

In business, you produce or get fired. In government, as your story about bonuses for the state pension board shows, you get rewarded for what has to be viewed as incompetence.

I am convinced that big government is not the answer to our fiscal problems.

I am also disappointed that our governor has not stopped this atrocious bonus action by the pension board.
