Punish those who allow poverty, too

THE KILLING of three innocent women in Dorchester and the wounding of a fourth is an outrage (“City officials seek public’s help amid ‘cycle of violence’,” Page A1, Aug. 14). The individual or individuals responsible must face justice.

However, there is a greater violence perpetrated on the people of that area on a daily basis — the violence of poverty.

I wonder who else should be indicted for that larger and equally deadly violence?
