HOW DISAPPOINTING that Aly Raisman has chosen to endorse Poland Springs (“Raisman lands a deal,” Business, Aug. 22). She is a remarkable young woman who made us proud in London, but she is apparently unaware of the environmental damage caused by bottled water in general, and Poland Springs in particular.
Ask the people in Maine where the huge trucks lunge through their towns creating traffic and noise and air polution — not to mention the plastic bottle production and recycling issues. The water that comes out of the faucets in Needham is perfectly fine, and does not disturb that or other neighborhoods.

Totally agree. Aly could have done much better. Perhaps the only other lucrative options were McDonalds and Pepsi? I guess there are greater evils.
