Opposition to Obama from day one has been GOP strategy

The Republican strategy for November could not be more clear, and it did not start with the beginning of election season this summer; it began before Barack Obama took office, right after he was elected in 2008.

In a sentence, it is this: Oppose anything Obama proposes, even measures formerly propounded by Republicans in Congress, and then criticize Mr. Obama relentlessly for getting nothing done.

With the endless secret funding available to conservative groups, these groups are able to pound this message into us unceasingly, through various media. Tell the big lie often and forcefully enough, and it is accepted as truth.

Sadly, this strategy is likely to work, unless the American electorate is savvy enough to check the facts.

The only way to test Obama’s policies is to reelect him, and give him a cooperative Congress. Then, I believe, we will see realized the promises he excited us with in the 2008 campaign.
