RE “Ayn Rand’s detractors miss her vision” (Op-ed, Aug. 23): In Cathy Young’s column, she downplays one important fact: Ayn Rand’s books are fiction. If we have to base our choices on a novel with oversimplified issues and one-dimensional characters, can we use the fiction of Charles Dickens or Victor Hugo instead?
