I’m concerned about Brian McGrory’s unabashedly biased cheap shots at Senator Scott Brown in his Sept. 26 Metro column “Brown’s illusion fades.” I’m independent politically, and I support and despise positions proposed by both parties and both candidates for Senate. McGrory seems bent on brainwashing others to share his hatred for Brown, and declines to present the information in a way that is newsworthy and informative.
McGrory also declines to specify his beef with the Brown campaign, instead opting to have fun by offensively describing Brown’s underlings as “idiotic,” and characterizing the senator as “a lesser” man than he used to be, a man who “was never as big as the moment,” and a “frat house bully.”

"McGrory fails to acknowledge how Brown has honorably declined to resort to the type of negative, hateful trash talking that characterizes the current sad state of American politics." Well, of course McGrory didn't acknowledge it. It's not a fact; it's your opinion of Brown's campaign. Many observers would beg to differ.
I guess having a staff who mocks Native Americans and Ms. Warren's heritage is not offensive behavior? Brown is responsible for his staff and did nothing to reprimand them in light of their hideous behavior. If one wanted to personally attack Mr. Brown, there is certainly alot of material there.
Brian McGrory was absolutely correct. The writer in the letter above takes offense at his direct language, but not at Brown's bitter attacks from start to finish of the debate? And let's not get into his dismissive wave toward Warren as he declared that she was too white to be a Native American. Often, candidates reveal their true selves by accident and such was the case with that maneuver. His legal counsel for 'constituent services' is on video doing war whoops and tomahawk chops and Brown declares that he is not the one who should apologize?! Hopefully, you will never have to call his office for help for a 'constituent service' if you are Native American, or any other race or nationality that can be derided by his professional staff. The quality that has been most often applied to Brown by the media, et al is that he is a 'nice guy.' Never thought that was true, and now he has revealed himself for what he is: fake. That just leaves his record of adhering to the Republican line while pretending otherwise. As I said, fake.

Typical. Conservative bullies can dish it out, but they can't take a dose of their own medicine. Remember that Brown opened fire on Warren in the debate by attacking her on the Indian issue. Why? Because that's all he's got. AN empty, hollow man.
Let's see - Sen. Brown has been makeing a big deal out a nothing in order to fabricate a reason to call Dr. Warren a "liar". THere is no there there in his assertions that she is not part American Indian. He has ZERO proof of his assertions, and she has ZERO reason to waste her time finding paper documentaion of what her family told her when she was growing up. He is also lyling when he says that her asbestos-related work for Travelers Insurance was "anti-worker" It was no such thing, as anyone who reads any accurate descriptino of her work in that case would easily see. THe same goes for her work for LTV. Sen. Brown has taken her part in complex cases and tried to dumb it all down in order to completely twist appearnce of things from what they actually are to what is favorable fro him. He is allegedly a lawyer, so he knows how complex legal cases often are. In other words, he knows exactly what he is doing, and knows that he is LYING about her work and her family's history in order to tarnish her reputation, to attempt to paint her as a liar when in fact he is the one doing the lying. Were this not a political campaign, I believe he might be open to charges of slander. Do they not teach critical thinking at Lexington High School? Do they not teach that one should look for actual evidence that supports one's conclusions, and that conlusion should only be made based on the evidence one actually has?
Don't believe Brown's hearsay. It's just that - hearsay, with no basis in fact, which makes Mr. McGrory's opinion piece spot on, even if a little obnoxious in writing style.
Putting aside whether or not Profeesor Warren has any native American ancestry, why won't she at least agree to release her employment records from UPenn and Harvard? Wouldn't that go along way to puttingthee issue to rest?
where have you been, Sam?? Brown has kept coming back to a viciously racist attack on Warren, complete with staffers doing the tomahawk chop and war whoops. Even Howie Carr has been emboldened by Brown to air the most offensive campaign theme song replete with 1950s era 'Indian' stereotypical words and phrases.
Brown has waged nothing other than a gutter personal attack on Warren. McGrory's "beef" with Brown is obvious to anyone who has a memory of past Senatorial campaigns. This is NOT the Brown of years past but the retooled Rove type candidate who will say and do anything to hold on to power. Brown is nothing better than a frat house bully and it is long past due that he was called out.
Just look at all the negative articles about Brown in this paper. It's obvious they want him out. Even more disgusting is this farce about how "intelligent" Warren is, based on NOTHING more than affirmative action jobs she's gotten. Why do so many liberals assume a female candidate is "smart" just because she speaks angrily or forcefully??? Warren is advocating ideas and policies that have failed in every country they're tried in...not real smart.
yup, consumer protection has "failed" in every country tried in ... Brown has gotten white glove treatment in The Globe ... esp as he has run a gutter campaign of calumny, deceit and smears. Republican1964 ?? I get the Goldwater reference but in Massachusetts ?? do you remember Saltonstall ?? Belotti ?? Brooke ?? now those were Republicans who would not stoop to the gutter campaigning of Brown. Oh, yeah: John Volpe.
this isnt partisan. this is about common decency. Brown is an accidental Senator; he lucked in to a campaign against Coakley, a campaigner who thought taking off time for Christmas and New Year holidays was more important than the election. Brown is a poser and a good representative of the Lee Atwater/Karl Rove approach: smash your opponent in the face, run them over with your gold plated Hummer and back up over their prone corpse. Shame on them, shame on Brown and watch what you want: Goldwater was hoisted on his own petard in 64 because he took up the '48 Dixiecrat approach to the federal government albeit cleansed of the overt racism.
Havnn't you been paying attention? Brown's staffers (campaign as well as DC staff that should have been at work in Washington) WERE idiotic to think that their antics wouldn't be caught on film. Do you really want people that stupid working on your state's issues in the Senate? I don't, and I'm disappointed that they only got a talking-to.
But that type of behavior starts at the top and Brown has proven himself to be a bully, bringing out his nasty side when things get tough. He showed that side to a group of students and parents a few years ago at the high school in his town and lost a lot of respect - too bad he forgot that lesson.
