Warren deserves more criticism than she’s getting

I am a registered independent, so I have no skin in this Senate game except one of disgust — disgust at how this Commonwealth can’t seem to abide having a Republican or two in Congress (“Brown’s illusion fades,” Brian McGrory, Metro, Sept. 26).

I am also disgusted with how Elizabeth Warren has portrayed herself to be the people’s candidate, but seems to have had no problem representing big companies, such as Travelers Insurance and LTV Steel.

If you're really an independent, why not focus on the issues instead of this sort of fluff?

Margaret, It really DOESN'T seem as if you "didn't have your mind made up." This letter is an attempt to scold the Globe and to endorse Brown. The language seems to come straight from Brown's campaign office, where, no doubt, lots of "independents" -- not -- are working.

This explains why all the big oil companies, banks, insurance companies, Wall Street traders, off-shore bank deposit holders and their friends are flocking to Elizabeth Warren.  Thanks for the clarification.  But wait.....

and she does not feel the need to folow the law and get a license to practive in MA

begolfing.  Learn to spell 'follow'.  It has two Ls.  And while we're at it, why don't you learn what the law requires before repeating stupid Repiglican talking points. Here it is:  While residing in Massachusetts, Dr. Warren has done legal work within the FEDERAL court system.  She can do that LEGALLY as long as she is licensed to practice law in ANY STATE in the Union.  There is NO REQUIREMENT that she have a license from the Commonwealth of Massachusets for this work.  The right wing has lied to you again, and you just sucked it right up and are now spewing it out all over the rest of us.  Please stop that.  It's obnoxious and one of the few things in the world that is truly ICKY.  Maybe you should stick to golfing and leave politics to grown-ups.

Ms. Fulmer's attack on Ms. Warren, rehashing tired Rebublican misrepresentations, reveals that she decided for whom to vote before she sent this cant to the Boston Globe.

I'm with the writer. I remember Warren needed Patrick to answer her questions at a media event, I remember Warren mentioning something about someone on Wall St. that was thrilled to have her as a candidate because Wall St. needed cleaning up - except she had to retract that as it was not quite the truth, similar to her Native American heritage fiasco and the way she handled it. Her work for Travelers and the Coal industry is being dismissed by those on the left, imagine if that were Scott Brown? Wow, the hypocrisy. It's too bad many of Warrens supporters seem to vote party line, we need more independent thought.

Hey willow2 - why don't you read up on the Travelers and LTV cases.  You'll find a comletely different picture of Dr. Warren than the one Sen. Brownnose and the Repiglicans wish you to believe, as long as you are reading complete and truthful accounts.  Even the Globe has articles that actually explain Dr. Warren's roles in those two cases, and it is plain, on reading those articles and any others that stick to the facts, that Dr. Warren's work was NOT what our dear Sen. Brown and Rush Limbaugh want you to think.  SO, to say that "those on the left" are being dismissive of "her work for Travelers and the Coal Industry" is not true.  THere is NOTHING to dismiss, except the right-wing slanders against Elizabeth Warrens character and work.

One last thing - Elizabeth Warren's work on the LTV case was NOT work for the "Coal Industry"; she was working to maintain a reasonable bankruptcy procedure in order to protect worker and other "little guy" interests. So when exactly did Elizabeth Warren work for the "Coal Industry"?

Just because you are incapable of perceiving that, on occasion, the interests of a nasty corporation coincide with the interests of middle and working-class people does not prove it never happens, nor does prove it that Warren sold out.

"I am also disgusted with how Elizabeth Warren has portrayed herself to be the people’s candidate, but seems to have had no problem representing big companies, such as Travelers Insurance and LTV Steel."

I am disgusted that you were taken in by Scott Brown's lie at the debate.

With the Travellers Insurance Case, Elizabeth Warren was trying to preserve the right of Traveller's Insurance to set up a $500Milliion fund for asbestos victims that was being blocked by other insurance companies.  After Brown told this lie, the lawsyer for the asbestos victims demonstarted in front of Brown's office in support of the help that Elizabeth Warren had give to the victims.

The only reason you think Elizabeth Warren lies about things is that Scott Borwn has told you a bunch of lies about Elizabeth Warren.

Are you going to let him con you this easily?

Regarding claiming Native American ancestry vs. Native American status, the comment of Kristen 789, an Oklahoma teacher who has written on this issue can be found in Comments under today's "Attacks on Warren's heritage lead to low blows" at http://www.bostonglobe.com/opinion/letters/2012/09/28/attacks-warren-heritage-encourage-low-blows/gx8k2BCITATPtZ3oMK5RsL/comments.html Others have commented on your apparent LACK of "no skin in the game", parroting Brown's talking points. "Nuff said there.

I'm disgusted with the lies that have been spread by the Brown campaign.  The court cases where Ms. Brown has been involved are complex matters.  If you took the time to discover the real story behind them, you will see how this has been deliberately and disingenously distorted by Brown and his tomahawk choppers.   They have misled folks at every turn...no moreso than in the portayal of him as a true "independent".  This is the only way he feels he can get elected in a "blue" state. But if you doubt it...his voting record speaks volumes.  Now fine...IF you are a Republican...and support the return to a Republican agenda very much like we had before the Obama administration...with all that did for the country...then by all means vote for Brown.  But if you aren't and don't wish for that...don't be fooled about supporting the REPUBLICAN Scott Brown.
