Your article on Dr. Raymond Chung’s effort to bring information and hope to Exeter Hospital’s hepatitis C victims tarnishes the reputation of a magnificent physician and investigator (“A doctor’s pitch, a question of ethics,” Page A1, Sept. 25). The ethicists who have denounced his presentation have evidently forgotten the precepts of situational ethics by failing to recognize that Chung was answering the highest calling of our profession — in this case, to alleviate anxiety by describing the upcoming revolution in therapy for chronic hepatitis C patients.
