No such thing as an ‘independent’ Republican

If the second debate between Scott Brown and Elizabeth Warren was the first time you had been introduced to Senator Brown, you might walk away thinking that he is an independent.

After watching the debate, I was incredulous at the number of times Brown declared himself independent, rather than that which he is: a Republican repeating the word “independent” over and over, and hoping that is what people remember when they vote.

But when times get tough in Washington under Mitch McConnell and company, there is no such animal as an independent Republican.
