Devoted to devices

Has anyone else noticed the birth of a new religion? I see the devotees on every corner on every street and in every elevator in the city. They are standing or walking, praying into some little gadget that they hold in their hands, mumbling prayers and devotionals. They are so engrossed in their devotions that they do not notice the world around them.

I can only account for this strange phenomenon through the rise of a new religion. Perhaps its name is technology.
