Tale of two Sept. 11 situations

In August 2001, while vacationing at his ranch in Texas, President George W. Bush got an intelligence briefing from the CIA warning that there were signs of intense activity indicating a high probability of an imminent terrorist act. This warning was brushed off. After Sept. 11, 2001, Democrats did not play the blame game, but rather closed ranks with Republicans in the name of national unity. Interestingly, at that time Republicans did try to assign blame to the Clinton administration for not having done enough to go after Al Qaeda.

In July 2012 Republicans in Congress denied the Obama administration the funds it wanted for the State Department for protection of embassies and consulates. After the attacks in Benghazi on Sept. 11, Mitt Romney and the Republican Party engaged in relentless bashing of the Obama administration. Where is the decency?

Bernard, I'm attaching the actual vote, next time you write a letter to the editor I would suggest you do some research. Democrats 149 Republicans 147, more republicans voted NO than democrats, get your facts straight. http://www.opencongress.org/vote/2011/h/941 People are still blaming Bush, not just for 9/11, for everything.

as well they should. Bush and his team got us into 2 major wars and the worst economic depression since 1939 happened on his watch. He was a disaster.

Well... that's the issue... no decency can be expected of Republicans. We all know that.

you cannot compere 9/11/01 to 9/11/12...we knew Libya is dangerous.....and the request came for more security there.  Remember Pres. Clinton bombed Iraq in 1998 because of WMD's there and they did use WMD's (mustard gas) to murder over 100 thousand Kurds...there are pictures to prove it...Stop blaming Bush......Syria has murdered over 30 thousand citizens's so what is the UN doing...Egypt in riots 800 werer killed and Murabak had to step down and now we have The Islamic Brotherhood in charge....all on Pres. Obama's watch...and not improving.
