Campaign tactics hit home for daughter of asbestos victim

A recent senatorial campaign mailing, labeled “DA NGER — ASBESTOS,” features an angry Elizabeth Warren, supposedly doing battle for big business at the expense of victims. As the daughter of an asbestos victim, I find Senator Scott Brown’s move to smear Warren and obscure fundamental issues both offensive and outrageous.

Although my father died of mesothelioma 43 years ago, I am still incensed by the conspiracy that kept scientific evidence about lethal effects of even brief exposure to the “miracle mineral” hidden from public view for more than 30 years, allowing the industry to mushroom and millions more to suffer fatal contamination. Not a day since his passing has let me forget the staggering costs to my family’s well-being of the early death of a spouse and parent.

Warren was hired to put a cap on the money that victims could get. How is that helping the victim?

Not so. Warren was hired to protect the slush fund that Travelers' had stuffed with $500 million dollars to give to victims. Elizabeth Warren protected the legitimacy of that fund in the Supreme Court. This meant that victims would get paid with a simple process of filing. All victims, even the poor! The richest had already hired their lawyers and the fund was in danger of elimination throught asset depletion. Elizabeth Warren's work meant, at the time, that lawsuits would be stopped, Travelers' would have immunity vs other law suits and victims would get paid. THEN ELIZABETH WARREN'S WORK WAS DONE. SHE LEFT THE LEGAL TEAM! Read today's letter from the woman in Concord. It is an effective negation of all Brown's ads to mutilate the legal case and discredit Warren. Any other questions?

A was replying to the woman from Concord. Who did you think I was replying to?

Why would Travelers Insurance hire somebody to protect the victims?  Her job was to cap the payout to $500MIL.
