Can’t wait to cast ballot (and defy the detractors)

I was so excited about voting on Tuesday, but why bother?

First, Jeff Jacoby, in his Oct. 28 op-ed column, says that my vote almost certainly won’t matter, and that it would not be wrong for me to stay home (“Voting is a right, but it’s not a duty”).
