She doesn’t ‘like’ what she sees on Romney’s Facebook page

This is regarding Friday’s article, headlined “A Facebook glitch has liberals irate.” As someone who brought this issue to the attention of the Globe, I am compelled to mention that I found the headline a bit misleading.

The word “glitch” implies some kind of malfunction. My point in shedding light on the issue of people appearing as supporters on Mitt Romney’s Facebook page when they are not was to suggest that it may not have been accidental.

Everyone remembers Donald Segretti (well, maybe?) who went to jail for his "dirty tricks" performed for Richard Nixon at the behest of E. Howard Hunt and Gordon Liddy. But not enough people remember that one of his co-conspirators was Karl Rove.  Karl Rove got his feet wet in dirty politics as part of Donald Segretti's efforts to break into offices, steal information and stationary from opposition candidates and send ing false letters accusing "enemies" of homosexuality, consorting with prostitutes, drunkenness and all that stuff.

 

It is interesting to ask which principal actor in today's campaigns has the longest history and most experience in this sort of thing?  I have a candidate...
