There might be a few other reasons Catholics have drifted from pews

The absurdity of Jennifer Graham’s focus on the church organ as the key reason for Catholics being driven away from their church pews is only outmatched by the Globe’s willingness to legitimize such ignorance and venom as “opinion” (“Save the church! (kill the organs),” Op-ed, Oct. 25).

Can Graham seriously not think of any other reason other than organs that might have driven Catholics from their churches? What about the sex-abuse scandal and the Vatican’s position on topics such as female priesthood, homosexuality, contraception, and women’s rights to control their bodies?

Always nice to hear from a non-Catholic organist. Bias anyone?

Clarkson is not biased as much as stating facts, and facts are reality and therfore valid whether from a Catholic or non- Catholic .

JSB1685 is exactly correct.  There is no bias evident in this letter.  Does rjcronin believe that only Catholics should be allowed to comment on issues related to the Catholic church?  All of the stated reasons for the church losing members are absolutely valid.  Many Catholics are fed up with the hypocrisy and arrogance exhibited by church leaders; the abuse crimes and cover/up perpetrated by clergy; and the money-focused, power-hungry, male-dominated, misogynistic, often misguided hierarchy. The defensive inability to look at themselves honestly is sad and dangerous.
