Secession-minded ought to be reminded of a certain pledge

The citizens signing those petitions to secede should be reminded of the pledge they each made. Every last one of them must have recited the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag countless times during their lifetimes. The Pledge of Allegiance is an obligation of loyalty to “the United States of America,” and when these citizens signed petitions urging their state to go it alone, they violated this pledge.

Every single person signing those petitions made a sacred pledge of loyalty to “one nation” that is “indivisible.” If not held accountable for the pledge they are breaking, shouldn’t they at least be reminded of it?
