Reducing carbon emissions will not be enough to turn tide

James Carroll once again shows his moral courage in raising the possibility of geoengineering as a means of mitigating the adverse effects of global warming (“The Earth experiment,” Op-ed, Nov. 26). Reducing carbon emissions, which must occur on a massive scale, will not be enough to preserve the planet as a place fit for human habitation.

I would prefer that we leave our hands off of Mother Earth, but we are about to go over the cliff of climate change, there is no pulling back, and all measures available will be necessary to save ourselves.
