Plastic-bag warriors ought to get handle on their own energy uses

As I sit here at my plastic keyboard and look at my plastic monitor, which are fueled by electricity that itself is fueled by fossil fuel, I am compelled to respond to “The bag wars” (Ideas, Nov. 25).

I commend the well-intentioned members of Brookline Town Meeting in their effort to address one small contribution to the world’s part in altering the fate of our planet. However, I ask all of those members of town meeting to examine whether they contribute in their own way to global warming through their own activities.
