Exporting our newly discovered gas and oil reserves could enable us to foster renewable energy domestically to stem climate change, according to Tom Keane in “The energy glut” (Op-ed, Dec. 2). I’m perplexed: Is there an encapsulated atmosphere over the United States that prevents the emissions from these exported fossil fuels from affecting us?

When one pushes science aside, I suppose anything is possible.
