Reform is urged, but outright ban on guns would be wrong

I am and always have been in favor of responsible adults owning guns. Trying to make it illegal to buy a firearm will not stop criminals from buying them on the street to use in home invasions and other crimes.

I do believe in ending the sale of automatic guns and rifles to everyone, since they are not needed for hunting or protection, and I do agree that the rules and regulations for purchasing firearms need to be revised.

But taking this right away from law-abiding citizens would be wrong.
