Columnist’s focus on big firms in Innovation District misses the mark

THE INNOVATION District is a strategy for community-building that helps companies, and our city, win the war for talent. Paul McMorrow misses the mark when he equates tech and innovation, when he emphasizes big companies ahead of small and medium-size ones, and when he suggests Boston seeks to copy Kendall Square (“Seaport is rising, but not from tech”, Op-ed, Dec. 25).

To the contrary, Mayor Menino has directed his team to help foster something along our harbor that’s very Boston: a neighborhood full of diverse companies and talented people.
