Tax firearms to pay for cost of violence

FOR THOSE who insist on owning handguns and assault weapons we should consider an impact tax on every gun sold.

Simply take the percentage of the cost to our citizens for the apprehension, trial, and incarceration of those who are convicted of crimes with handguns and assault weapons, add the cost to provide support and medical care for the innocent people whose lives have been destroyed, and finally layer on the costs for cities and towns across America to implement the NRA’s insane proposal to arm our schools and virtually every other public access facility with armed guards.
