KUDOS TO the Globe for its front page article on Sunday December 23, 2012, on why Mitt Romney lost (“The candidate who never really left voters in,” Page A1, Dec. 23). The analysis and research represent journalism at its best.

The Globe did make one omission in the litany of Romney and his staff’s errors: the failure to select Senator Rob Portman of Ohio as his running mate. Ohio was key to both President Obama and Governor Romney. Had Romney picked Portman, the polls at the time in Ohio would likely have tipped Romney’s way.
