More women means more liberalism

ELECTING MORE women “for the sake of democracy” as Swanee Hunt argues (Op-ed, Jan. 2 ), ignores the fact that women have historically favored the candidates and government programs that improve their “safety net.” Several years ago, John R. Lott Jr. and Lawrence W. Kenny, published a paper, “Did Women’s Suffrage Change the Size and Scope of Government?”

One chart shows the per capita state expenditures rising dramatically after women were allowed to vote in different states.

So?

From the title alone I knew even before opening this link that the author had to be a republican male. After all, Who else would object to having all citizens with differentiating viewpoints equally represented?

Women are the majority in the country. If they want more government, you can expect them to voice their opinion. I think that is the basis of democracy.

The overall welfare of the nation's people depends on government expenditures not designed to cater to one gender over another. If the professors' study had shown that, over the years, women did not look to government as their "safety net", the liberals would not be happy.

It's alright, carlida. Just go to bed and sleep it off.

If you hate women that much Arnie you could always move to a region of the world where they share your values, or lack thereof.

Oh, the horror, Arnie. Women have a voice. Get over it.

You're posting that same incomprehesible same message again?!? Did it take you 2 days to write so you want to make all that time worthwhile? Maybe if you sober up, you can write it again.

Too bad, Arnie. You can put away your steel helmet, your liberal-baiting rhetoric, and your selfishness.

What more women will hopefully bring to government is a kinder, gentler nation, a nation more concerned with the welfare of its people.

Bring them on!

carlida - Your comment doesn't make sense to me, but I assume that for whatever reason your attacking what I wrote. The original op-ed column was an opinion piece by Ms. Hunt, not a study. If your saying that women in government only care about women, I can't disagree more, but frankly I don't understand *what* your saying.

Arnie, have you learned your lesson? Former Harvard President and Obama administation alum Lawrence Summers was too slow too. You can do the science and research, but if the results don't agree with liberal political correct ideas you'd better plan to shred that data.
