Democratic insider undermines own party in rebuffing Frank’s offer

In his public rebuff of former Representative Barney Frank’s offer to serve as interim US senator (Political Intelligence, Metro, Jan. 6), Governor Patrick’s political adviser, Doug Rubin, undermines his own party and disrespects Frank’s career in Congress.

Rubin, speaking on his own, claims Frank’s experience would be a hindrance to his providing effective leadership in the Senate because “the experienced people are the ones creating the gridlock.” He is wrong.

Comments

Mr. Zilles is correct and Mr. Rubin is very wrong. I would like to see Barney hold the Tea Party's feet to the fire. Barney hasn't been right on all the issues. Who has? But he learns quickly and could verbally kick the Tea Party's cup to the ground. They deserve no less.
