RE “Patrick pushes for tax hikes” (Page A1, Jan. 15): Just what Massachusetts needs: higher taxes, more fees, or both. This is all to pay for a transportation system that bleeds money.
How about a novel idea: Cut expenses at state and local levels instead of raising taxes.
We all know how this works. In a couple years, as this system continues to bleed, more fees and higher taxes will be required.
It almost beckons me to vote Republican.
