We tried a so-called assault rifle ban, and it didn’t make our schoolchildren safer. How about the mental health community, the American Psychiatric Association, the pharmaceutical companies, the Food and Drug Administration, the American Civil Liberties Union, school architects, school boards, judges, our correctional system, law enforcement, and troubled people’s parents making these innocent schoolchildren safer?
I also condemn the entertainment industry for glorifying violence for profit and the news media for sensationalizing these incidents and making these deranged individuals famous, encouraging imitators.

You missed the "Gun Free School Zone" act. The sign should be a target with children in it.
:::sigh::: but it is what the politicians truly love, a chance to grandstand, make an attempt to rule "by majority" rather than by Constitutional Representation.
