Vaunted ‘Patriot Way’ looking like a dead end for football team

Much is said about the “Patriot Way” and how it has led to years of football excellence in Foxborough.

Except for 2007, the Patriot Way seems to mean that the you sign the best quarterback in the history of the NFL, and surround him with mediocre talent where it matters most. It seems to include bargain shopping, coupled with huge profits, with the myth that incredible coaching puts the team in a position to win the lame AFC East each season.

Couldn't agree with you more Larry. I've felt that this team has been run on the cheap in the last few seasons. Feel bad for Brady and Wes.

Had the Patriots played their usual game Sunday, they very well could have won that game and gone back to the SB.  Missed tackles, missed assignments, dropped passes, injuries and Brady having a bad day just happened to coalesce all at once.  It happens.  You've got excellent tight ends, a great quarterback, a great slot reciever (at least for now), a great nose tackle, pretty good linebackers and safeties, a normally effective offensive line.  I think most teams would trade their personnel for ours any day.
