In response to Michael LaBrie’s Jan. 20 letter “NRA right in seeing double standard in armed guards for first family”: President Obama’s kids are no more important or deserving of protection than my kids. However, they have a higher profile, because Obama is a head of state. Heads of state around the world and their families can and do become targets for political assassination. Therefore, they have bodyguards.

Parents of children who go to public schools around the country can and do become targets for mass murder. Therefore, gun control nutjobs would like to deny them security.
We have not heard of any attempts on the First Families children, have we? No doubt because it is common knowledge they have SECURITY. Our children have a sign: Gun Free School Zone (aka START SHOOTING HERE, POLICE WILL ARRIVE IN 20 MINUTES)
