We are Democrats, and we supported Governor Patrick in both of his elections. However, we cannot understand why Barney Frank was not appointed as interim senator. Given the enormous budget and spending challenges ahead of us in Congress, Frank is clearly the most qualified person to represent Massachusetts.
We have nothing against William “Mo” Cowan. We just think that the governor put personal loyalty ahead of the best person for this job. Massachusetts is the loser.
