letters | a snowstorm to remember

It feels good when we all pull together

Thank you, Governor Patrick, for the firm directive to stay off the roads during the snowstorm. Thank you to Mayor Menino for putting a courageous, warm face on Boston government despite the needs of your own continued recuperation.

Most of all, thank you to all the hard-working employees of the MBTA who communicated clearly and managed expectations well, and who worked all night shoveling snow so that, ahead of schedule, the T restored downtown service, enabling planned events to be held, despite expectations to the contrary.

It was all good up until that last paragraph.

Communal?

Is this a parody?

Notice how Devil's threat of jail time and a huge fine becomes a "firm directive"?

I suppose a hanging would be "serious consequences".

Yup, here is more of the wonderful Mayor:

"By Monday evening, Menino apologized to those residents whose streets remained impassable."

What a guy!

Of course, the Devil wanted to imprison and fine those who had the temerity to attempt driving on those unplowed streets.
