Snowflakes in record numbers?

I’d estimate that 46 quadrillion snowflakes fell on Boston in the weekend’s storm.

Thirty-five years ago WGBH ran a contest to estimate how many snowflakes had fallen on Boston during the Blizzard of ’78. My father, Jack Tessman, a Tufts physics professor, won with his calculation of 50 quadrillion snowflakes.

Your father's witticism is too good not to share. Thanks.

Sorry, you are wrong on the count.  You forgot all the liberal flakes that are part of the perma-flakes in Boston.

I usually think extremely little of everything you write... but I have to admit--and I am a liberal and proud to be--that your comment is hilarious!

Thank you for your letter! Thank you so much for the laugh... much, much welcome in these wretched days! Very funny.
