Bottled water bans are off the mark

RE “At Vt. school, no admission for bottled water” (Page A1, Feb. 15): So, now the University of Vermont has banned the sale of bottled water on the campus. Same as my town. This is a mistake. What should have been banned instead are bottled sugary sodas and other less healthy drinks.

To combat obesity, let’s target the offending agents, and promote the consumption of non-caloric, healthy water.

What is the matter with people in this part of the country and their "bans"?  Ever hear of "self control"?  Or is it you think you are in charge of the person sitting next to you?

Ever think it might be a good idea to mind your own business?  No, don't bother with the "it is a national health care problem that affects us all" bs.  I am sure I could find something that every person in this state does that has a negative effect on someone else.

Stop with the crazy bans already!

No one is banning water...it is free for all right from the tap.

How 'bout this. Let's not ban ANYTHING that is a legal product in the US of A. As a society, how have we come to a point where so few can determine what is best for a majority?
