In R.I. tragedy, a call for fire safety

I WAS greatly impressed with the quality of the reporting of Mark Arsenault and Eric Moskowitz in their painful remembrance of The Station nightclub fire in West Warwick, R.I., 10 years ago (“Finding life after the fire that will never go out,” Page A1, Feb. 17). The journey back for those who survived and the never ending pain for those lost were clearly evident in their excellent writing.

Having served on the Sprinkler and Fire Safety Commission, I know firsthand the efforts of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to make our public venues safer. The leadership of State Fire Marshal Steve Coan has made our state safer.
