Ruthlessness in baseball

You speak of the New York Yankees’ “ruthlessness” in your March 6 editorial “ ‘Evil empire’: All spites reserved.” The Red Sox, by becoming Ruth-less in the famed sale of the Bambino, were the ones who made the Yankees the evil empire in the first place. Ruth-lessness haunted the Sox for more than eight decades.
