Letters | Wrestling with rising health care costs

And now, the bill comes for Obamacare boosters

I just read your March 5 editorial “Mass. needs an Obamacare waiver for small-business health plans,” about the Affordable Care Act’s impact of increasing health care costs for small business.

Maybe you should have read the bill before you supported it. Oh, I forgot — Nancy Pelosi said you could read it after it passed.

Well said.  The waivers from the pain Obamacare is inflicting is directed to those political allies who earned them-the unions.  Maybe Obamacare should be repealed, and the whole country could get that coveted waiver.

Let's see: would I rather have my health care in the hands of the government or big business? Hmmm... Who will put profit before benefit?  Who can I trust? Who have we elected to protect and provide for us? Who is subject to recall? Who is more likely to abide by the law? Who is more interested in telling the truth- Faux news or the Liberal media? hmmmm.

Great letter James. How ironic that the Globe editorial board asked for a state waiver, when Romney's biggest campaign point about Obamacare was that one size DOES NOT fit all, and that there should be state level plans. Of course the Globe vehemently disagreed. Now they're understanding why - and maybe figuring out that Romney was just a little smarter than they gave him credit for.

When you say "Now they're understanding why", you are too kind to the Globe's editors. They KNEW, but they had a JOB to do. And there were others who KNEW, like the AARP...Here's a link to a NY Times article last September, written by former Car Czar Stephen Rattner.

Beyond ObamaCare By STEVEN RATTNER

WE NEED DEATH PANELS.

This is what happens when no one knows what they were voting for.  Look, Pelosi even conceded she didn't know what was in the bill.  But, God forbid you even questioned the practicality of passing something so enormous - you were viewed as a : racist, anything to stop Obama, ...fill in the blank...

What nerve the state has now to ask for a waiver.  You get what YOU sowed.  Maybe next time people will be a bit more cautious.

Want to know what is in the bill? Here'a a link..Globe will never tell you

For starters read the big $ Money amounts there. .And find how many times it says the Secretary of the HHS SHALL or WILL SEEK TO.." ..And read all about those Medicaid Health Care Exchanges..And read about all of the restrictions and paperwork for your doctors.

If Gov. Patrick wants to do the Right Thing, he should join the Republican state governors who have announced that they are turnng down the "Free Money" for setting up state Medicaid health care exchanges. These exchanges are Poison Pills that will later on force the state to cut other services to pay for the Medicaid expansion.  The Act requires that states continue "Maintenance of Effort".
