Smaller and simpler than our federal government, the Vatican conclave worked. Perhaps we might incorporate some of their incentives to make our government more functional.
Whenever a decision on a bill cannot be reached after three days, the House and Senate retire for a day of prayer, then meet to try again.

I can only hope this writer is making a tongue in cheek argument. With scandals galore, backward pontificating, and no signs of eliminating poverty or pestulence from the world, the Vatican is a governing failure. No thanks.

The process for selecting the Pope is just the same as in any authoritarian, non-democratic regime. It's simply power games, behind closed doors.
