Stellar season for Welker would serve Patriots right

Wes Welker lunged for extra yardage against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The receiver is now a Denver Bronco.

I, for one, will be cheering for Wes Welker to perform above and beyond any expectations with Denver. I am a diehard New England Patriots fan and do not like Peyton Manning or the Broncos. However, I am disgusted at the treatment of Welker by a Patriots organization that gives lip service to wanting players who are solid citizens as well as hard-working professionals.

Welker was both in his time with the team, and was treated with complete disrespect. We may well win a Super Bowl without him, but I have lost a ton of respect for the Patriots and owner Bob Kraft for treating this outstanding player and professional in this manner. They should be ashamed.
