A school’s quality is measured by more than test scores

The Globe should be careful with its use of weighted words. The article “School choice overhaul OK’d” (Page A1, March 14), about the new Boston student assignment plan, referred to schools of “medium or high quality” when it should properly have referred to these as schools with relatively mid-range or high MCAS scores. Don’t conflate scores on a single standardized test with the total quality of a school.
