I AM a mother of two school-aged children who was forced to take my daughter out of the public school system in the 7th grade and enroll her in a Catholic school because she was not one of the lucky students to get picked for any of the charter schools. I was not satisfied with the quality of instructions at her BPS middle school.
When we received that middle school assignment, I tried my best to prepare my daughter to continue to be a successful student. But it just wasn’t enough. The bright and academically gifted child that I sent to that school in the fall of 2008 changed into a student who was not challenged. Although she continued to receive excellent grades, the quality of her work declined.
