The way to win: Don’t give up

How to win the Boston Marathon: Don’t give up.

Keep moving, no matter how slowly or how agonizing the journey. Know that you are stronger than the hill — it might as well be a mountain — known as “Heartbreak.” Draw strength from the people around you, running with you, offering support and encouragement from the sidelines, waiting for you.

Remember that the pain you are going through will not last forever. Remember that, and you can get through anything. Remember that, and you cannot be defeated.

In memory of those who lost their lives at the 2013 Boston Marathon. In honor of everyone who was there or was touched by this tragedy. In celebration of the spirit of the marathon runner who will inspire and sustain us all in the difficult days to come.
