Letters | VIOLENCE AT NEWTOWN KEENLY FELT

We shouldn’t hold back on graphic images of gun violence

I agree completely with Tobias Zanini’s April 22 letter “Graphic front-page image is a powerful act of truth-telling,” and suggest that all media consider the question more broadly. Why show only the horror of terrorism? Why not show the daily carnage resulting from the use of assault weapons?

If just one image from the classroom in Newtown, Conn., were released to the public — assuming approval by the families, of course — the discussion about sensible gun control would be transformed overnight.
