Letters | Celebrating a big anniversary at UMass

A striking absence of women featured in survey of school’s 150-year history

Congratulations on the Globe’s attractive and interesting magazine on the 150th anniversary of our fine state university, which is often underappreciated and underrated.

Only one problem: Why did I have to wait until Page 31 to read a feature on a woman at University of Massachusetts, and why was there very little content about women in general?

Surely, the writers could have found exemplary women to expound upon in the 150-year history of UMass.
