Interfaith service failed to bring humanists under its umbrella

The photo on Page 14 of the May 7 g section (“Live with fear”) shows five clergy members accompanying President Obama at the interfaith service memorializing the victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. Excluded from this healing endeavor were representatives of the large percentage of Greater Bostonians who evince no religious preference.

Although we don’t pray, humanists, atheists, agnostics, ethical culturists, “nones,” and freethinkers bleed too, and undoubtedly, some were among the victims.
