With a gun marketed to kids, tragedy strikes again

As a mother and grandmother, I am horrified to learn that real guns are now being manufactured for children — downsized for those as young as 5 (“Ky. town stunned by boy’s shooting of sister, 2,” May 6). They are sold as Cricketts, which I guess is thought to be a charming play on the name of the tiny insect thought to bring good luck when it lands on a fireside hearth.

Sadly, one family recently found only tragedy when their 5-year-old killed his little sister with a Crickett.
