Trouble in the White House? Connect the dots

RE “NIXON all over again? Not even close” by Scot Lehigh (Op-ed, May 17): Watergate would have remained nothing but a third-rate burglary were it not for a whistle-blower and a couple of intrepid newspaper reporters. While there are still whistle-blowers out there, it seems as if there has been a decided reluctance on the part of the mainstream press to connect any dots relating to this administration, at least until the Justice Department’s fishing expedition into Associated Press phone records came to light.

It takes an incredible ability to suspend disbelief for someone to look at the combination of the alleged Benghazi “talking points” coverup, the IRS identifying conservative nonprofits for extra scrutiny, and the leak investigation into AP, all occurring in the context of the last presidential election, and all tending to help the incumbent president’s chances, and see nothing there.
