RE JENNIFER GRAHAM’S column “We need Tim Tebow” (Op-ed, June 17): Graham should consult her Bible before claiming there’s any “humility” in New England Patriots player Tim Tebow’s prominent on-field praying. According to the Gospel of Matthew 6:5-6, Tebow is acting in defiance of Jesus’ instructions: “And when you pray, you shall not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men . . . But you, when you pray, enter into your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father which is in secret; and your Father which sees in secret shall reward you openly. . .”
Clearly, Christians should witness to their faith, but not grandstand.
