One column, two different takes

I would like to commend the Globe for a small change your editorial staff made in the Tara Siegel Bernard story on LearnVest, which appeared in both The New York Times and The Boston Globe July 27 (“Aiming to bring financial planning to the masses,” Business).

The Times article describes LearnVest founder Alexa von Tobel as “a petite blonde with a big personality.” When was the last time we saw a physical description of a male entrepreneur in the Times?

The Globe deleted that superfluous clause in its version of the column.
