Brewer’s brush-off to women leaves bad taste

Re “Brewer gives women the cold shoulder” (Business, July 31): Thank you, Shirley Leung, for opening my eyes to Boston Beer Co. founder Jim Koch’s apparent views on women. While his wife seems more than qualified for a board position, his statement with regard to why no other women are serving — they have been approached but were too busy — is ridiculous and insulting.

It is the 21st century, not the mid-20th century. Women drink beer, own their own businesses, and serve on boards. I think I am too busy to drink Koch’s beer.
