It must be asked: Did famous Remy name play into decision-making?

I agree with those who believe that the justice system failed Jennifer Martel by setting free Jared Remy, who was arrested a day later in her murder. However, what I have not heard being discussed is whether the famous name of his father, Jerry Remy, played into this decision.

Do we really believe that Jared Remy would have been released on personal recognizance in the earlier case of domestic violence had he come from a regular family? Do we really believe that he would have been freed were he black or Hispanic? We are all indicted by this tragedy.
